Safer Use of the Internet and Social Media Parent Workshop
The school has managed to organise a parent workshop that will focus on aspects of the safe use of the internet and social media outside of school. You will no doubt be aware that incidents involving young children being exposed to dangers as a result of using the internet, we have seen a huge increase over the past few years.
At St Andrew's we are doing as much as is possible to educate the children in how to use the internet (including social media) safely. However, we are aware that outside of school, you as parents/carers, may well need a little extra support in helping them to be safe outside of the school environment.
We have managed to get two of our parents, Simon Farnsworth and Richard Cohen, to be involved in running a workshop that will give guidance and practical ideas for helping young people stay safe online. They both have expert knowledge of different aspects of using the internet and have very kindly offered their time to help us raise the understanding around safer use of the internet.
This is a really great opportunity to get up to speed on the fast moving world of how to stay safe while using the internet and social media.
The workshop will take place on Tuesday 21st June at 6pm in the school hall. Please come along and support the evening as this is an extremely important subject that affects us all.
