Curriculum

St Andrew’s is committed to giving children an excellent education and to nurturing within each child positive attitudes towards life-long learning. Our formal curriculum includes all the areas required in the last year of the Foundation Stage, all the required subjects for Key Stages 1 and 2 (10 National Curriculum areas plus Religious Education) and PSHCE and a modern foreign language in Key Stage 2.

We are also committed to teaching a wider curriculum which fosters children’s personal development and to providing children with lots of opportunities to participate in a rich variety of extra-curricular activities. We are especially proud of maintaining high quality teaching and learning over not just the formal areas of the curriculum, but also over the wider curriculum.

In 2009 the school was successful in renewing the Basic Skills Quality mark. This means we provide an excellent foundation in the teaching and learning of the basic skills of maths and literacy.
